With nine planets and more than twenty half-G moons, the Nimbus system
is a busy place. The location of this system is also noteworthy: it
is more or less in the middle of occupied space, no closer than four
and no more than seven sectors from the borders of any warp-capable
government. Members of the Romulan, Klingon, and Federation governments
recognized this convenient location and declared it neutral space, calling
its only Class M planet (Nimbus III) the planet of intergalactic peace.
Nearly all official political dealings between the governments occur
here. As a result, acts of violence in this region of space carry a
special weight and are banned less they lead to war on a massive scale.
Today, the Nimbus sector is the center of galactic activity. Those
interested in making an intergalactic profit have also made note of
the central location and the heavy traffic in the area and have established
many small businesses and headquarters here. After all, what better
place could there be to establish a business than the most heavily traveled,
heavily policed planet in the galaxy?
All of this extra traffic does pose a potential navigational hazard
to passing vessels. To minimize the incidents of accidents and misunderstandings
in an area as volatile as this, the Nimbusian government has established
an advanced traffic control system. Nimbus Ground Control, as it is
known, will ensure that no vessel jeopardizes itself or others. Nevertheless,
exercise caution when traveling through this system.
