This planet is so similar to Earth that it is best described in comparison. It is slightly rounder in shape and has a more uniform rotation than earth. This keeps the seasons mild. Its atmosphere is too similar to contrast. Its temperature, however, is just over a full degree above that of Earth. Curiously, this increase in temperature has not led to an increase of cloud cover and to a "greenhouse effect" on the planet's surface. This may be due to the slightly lower gravity of the planet.

Although the formation of this planet is so close to that of Earth to make it noteworthy, Federation scientists have been less interested in the planet as Federation politicians have been in the vast agricultural investment here. Plilaun's Earthlike nature makes it perfect for the cultivation of organic goods.
