Details
Tantilus V is the fifth of six rogue planets in the Tantilus series. Discovered near the same time by Federation scientists, each of the planets had two factors in common: they all lack a parent star and they were all large enough to be classified as a planet. Tantilus V is the largest in the series, with a mass roughly equivalent to a class K planet. It has no atmosphere, no notable satellites, and very little rotation.


Specifics
Federation security recently installed fusion generators and excavated a small network of underground caves in order to establish a penal colony here. The colony is successful in achieving its designers goals. This is likely due to the lack of atmosphere (making escape impossible without an environment suit) and thick stone enclosures (which scatter the annular confinement beam of transporter systems).
